India - 2012 - Intro

I spent nearly 4 weeks in India from February 10 to March 5, 2012.  The first postings in this blog will be the daily emails (sometimes more than one, sometimes missing) including 4-8 pictures for each posting.  Videos, extended pictures, and other thoughts will follow.

Each daily email is not supposed to be exhaustive about that day.  Each is intended to be either the highlights or what struck me most about that day -- or even the things about which I have the most interesting (im(ns)ho) or beautiful photos.

A word about photos:  I'm posting web-friendly sized photos.  I will eventually have larger (4MB approx.) JPEGs on my Flickr site.  And, if anyone is really weird enough to want the digital-raw photos that are the basis for most of the photos, I will provide them on request (they are Canon EOS digital raw).

The trip to India included an organized tour as well as time not on a tour.  The organized tour was Road Scholar's India:Treasures of the North and South.  I would highly recommend it (www.roadscholar.org) and our group leader, Ashok Jain (contact me for contact information).
